Roles and Permissions

I realize that BIM 360 is continuously evolving and that roles were recently expanded.  It appears that two major roles are overlooked:

• Sales
• Customer

From time-to-time we must allow access to our Sales force to view project documents & data to be able to keep the Customer informed of project progress.

Additionally, Every one of our projects, like all projects, has a deliverable component at several stages:

• Initial design review with customer comments (perfect for using Markups)
• Final design submittal
• Any revisions
• Project completion
  • PDFs
  • AutoCAD Drawings
  • Other project documentation

We do have a Customer Folder in DOCs and give limited access to the customer and sales when needed.  It would be nice to have accurate roles for these individuals

Agree the roles aspect of 360 needs much more development but rather than building specific roles wish they would build a function to enable users to configure/build roles:

Imagine a defining a role name then, in a matrix of BIM 360 modules, specifying view/comment/review[sign off]/edit etc capabilities for each module with logic behind them automating logical connections. (e.g. adding edit to design module automatically enables it for docs etc.)

This would also need to be at a hub level in addition the current per-project set-up as an owner could assign permissions across a portfolio of projects

@Anonymous definitely agree with this approach.  Putting roles with customized permission levels across tools in the hand of account admins is key.  Also, having a single pane of glass where you can see/edit role permissions across all tools (and default folder structures) would be key.  Essentially you'd have a matrix with tools/actions down the y axis and then the permission level toggle next to each line.
