One of the big frustations at the moment is the bulk uploads of huge amounts of drawings (6000 or more). Docs capability to version drawings is amazing but needs immidiate fixes in areas such as:
- when uploading a "possible version" in the uploading window get notified that the particular document is going to be version V1 or V3 and so on.
- ability to determine which attribute will be the "version controller", for example it makes sense to only version up based on the drawing number rather than the combination of drawing number and title combined. Why? Because, the designers might sometimes alter the drawing title as part of the next revision and then we will end up with two line items representing the same document. This happens a lot in our current projects and the verification is painful.
- Ability to search a document and choose to upload its next version directly from the Versions pop-up would be a great handy option
- As well as the version control of non-PDF file formats such as dwg, rvt, nwc, nwd and even image files needs similar improvements. We must have an option to add custom attribute with a list of values that was entered previously, something between the lines of cookies that are stored in the memory and appear as a value dynamically as you start typing the first few letters.
