When assigning an issue to a party, sometimes miscues happen and you click the wrong party. Unfortunately, the way it works currently is that as soon as you click that party the email notification goes out. Even if you immediately click the drop-down again and assign it to the correct party.
This exact email string has happened repeatedly because of this:
*Automatic system notification of assignment of issue*
*Party assigned the issue* "This is not our responsiblity"
*Me, the Guy Whose Finger Slipped* "Yeah, sorry. My finger slipped."
Not sure if other processes are treated the same way, but I believe because of the way that distribution lists are used that there is some protection against automatic notifications to the incorrect parties.
Would save emails/notifications/time/embarrassment/etc if there was a second tier to the notification to that party going out.
