We often use room volume geometry for both the visual benefits and also the parametric benefits of utilizing dimensional properties such as Room Area, Perimeter, and Height values, during concept and schematic design for planning, design, and estimating efforts. Room Geometry can represent a space program and a room-by-room detailed floor plan at an LOD 200 (Reference BIMForum LOD Specification), prior to detailed design work being performed. Currently, room volume geometry is not exposed in BIM360, nor is it exposed in partner integrations through the Forge API. Since LOD 200 is recognized as an industry standard, and room volume geometry is accepted as LOD 200, it would bring tremendous benefit to the industry to expose this particular geometry.
