Document Management - Show Empty Folders as Empty in the Folder Structure

Showing empty folders as a different faded grey or different icon would be a time saver. This idea is basic, however many people have a pre-defined folder structure.

Even windows can't seem to answer this one, and it too has never had a great empty folder icon. 

Organization and structure are a good but getting lost in empty folders is a waste of time that could easily be avoided if this type of visual representation was implemented.

Completely agree. I've done a very quick mockup of what this could look like... 

As the image suggests, a blue icon means there are files in that folder (or sub-folder - it's important that it goes back up through the folder hierarchy as well)

Also, building on this idea, it would be useful to know how many files are in each folder, not just that there is stuff in the folder. Please see the below mock-up which takes the idea that when a cursor is hovered over a folder, the number of files is shown in the pop-up description along with the folder name.

See if a folder/folders contains a file or files

Idea from my customer: Have a good idea about how to / can see if a folder contain files.
In Scandinavia, there is a very large and comprehensive folder structure standard within AEC.

Today you can see if a folder contains a subfolder, but not if the folder contains any file.
The suggestion is that if a folder contains files, the folder will have a different color.
Or that, if you change the "view" folder so you get the same function as in windows, an open folder containing documents or not.

This applies both to the interface for the Desktop Connector, B360 in the web / ipad -phone.

It seems a version of this has been implemented on the Plangrid Build app so now we just need that idea to be ported to the web version.

Huge waste of time looking in empty folders.. We all have file structures that get uploaded with empty folders. Please add a way to tell if folders are empty.
