Hi guys,
just decided to share this idea:
We were not really happy with the way BIM360 Docs handles linked files and associated sheets within. So, knowing the magic of DWFx we decided to give it a try. And hey, it works - but to a certain degree.
I mean, it does a brilliant job in terms of bringing the 3D view with all associated linked models as well as the sheets/views that require content from linked models. However, the split view does not support DWFX in BIM360 as well as the element properties exported from Revit are, we can say poor in DWFx.
I did not have much time to experiment but it looks like association between a sheet and 3D view is also not maintained when uploading to BIM360 Docs.
I think there is a great potential if Autodesk improves DWFX interoperability between Revit and BIM360 it could resolve number of problems associated with different file formats.
Look at the screenshot.
