BIM 360 DOCS - Allow folder copy

Hi,

we are switching from TEAM to DOCs and there i missing one MAJOR functionality. Be able to COPY whole folder and its structure.

We often copy the folders in the same projects, but also from project to project.

Please, this can't be hard 🙂

Hi, is there any time estimate for this? It is really basic function that DOCs is missing. And more and more clients are switching to DOCs from TEAM. This is really important for them.

I am able to get about this by having a "template" folder on my C drive and copy and paste it manually (Ctrl C and Ctrl V) into docs. I cases some folders wont transfer.

BUT...... If it rename the source folder by changing ex. Weekly to Wkly and doing the (Ctrl C and Ctrl V). It works. VERY STRANGE....

Docs needs this capability as the like of Aconex, Asite and others are passing it out. Autodesk need to be the ground breakers in the technical solutions.

15 month passed since this idea was accepted - Do we need to create  a buzz around it...in social media?

Still very much wanted idea - My project has 25 disciplines and in each of their folder they have 2 or 3 more folders and it would help to be able to clone/copy/move folders. 25 disciplines + 2 nested levels of folders

Wow, accepted 2 years ago and on the road map but still not able to copy folders, with more people needing to use BIM 360 now you would think this feature would have been added!

Same problem. Cannot copy folders, only move function works. We also hope this feature to be implemented asap.

copy folders including permissions will save a lot of time!!!

This could cause a lot of agro if permissions were copied along with the folders.

I've tested the BIM360 Docs platform yesterday and no modifications in features like multiple folders copy/move.

Copy/Move functions work for copying/moving multiple files from current folder only.

If you select one subfolder only then move works but no copy function.

If you select 2 subfolders then both copy and move functions are not available.

If you select 1 subfolder and 1 file then both copy and move functions are not available.

If you select multiple files from the current folder then both copy and move functions work.

So, regarding multiple folders or selecting both files and folders you cannot copy or move something.

We need not only copying/moving some files from source to destination, we also need to copy/move multiple folders or mix of files and folders from source to destination.

I didn't understand why all of these features has not implemented yet.

Move folder function is available. same time copy a folder structure as it is to another project or folder. Please do the needful
