I have my own DG data type (MPxGeometryData), was searching if there is bifrost functionality so I have access to MPxGeometryData within bifrost and convert the data to bifrost data types. But it looks like I have to convert these data to Maya data types outside bifrost and then convert them in a second step to bifrost types within bifrost. So I thought I could leave out the first conversion step.
