Remove unwanted updates from Autodesk desktop apps

Every morning when I start my computer I keep getting popups to install updates to apps I don't think I even have installed.  For instance this morning it pops up I need to update Vehicle Tracking 2018.0.1 HotFix 64-Bit.  I have no idea what this app is and I don't see it in my App Manager inside of Civil3D.  Why am I getting updates to these apps and how do I remove them from my desktop app's update list?

Hi amoseley,

You can control what updates are to be seen in the Autodesk Desktop Application from the accounts portal:

http://manage.autodesk.com

Under the Product updates tab you can set which devices will be able to see and install the update:

If you do not want any devices to be able to see and install this update you can choose “No Devices”.

Regards,

Kristofer

Is this solution only for the contract manager or can anyone use it? Is it still available?

I no longer see the option for access control so I can turn off certain updates for all devices.

Hi@Evan.Pond,

Thanks for your feedback.

I think we are no longer supporting devices settings. so there is no access control settings.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Srinivas.

Could de controle of update delivery be brought back. very usefull for blocking acces to unusefull addons/updates. Civil engineering updates in our case not usefull.

This feature needs to be brought back asap. There are too many non-essential updates and add-ons that show up in the user interface. This keeps users from actually updating their software because they are too confused to know what to install.

This really needs to be brought back, having this giant list to parse through is ridiculous... I don't want to see the same update sitting there for the entire time I use a program if I never am going to install it.

Thanks, Ryan. Autodesk strikes again. Anything to make life more difficult, I guess. They really need to bring this ability back. I'm managing others, and getting them to install updates on their machines is a royal pain when they have to scroll through literally hundreds of updates that don't pertain to their machines.

@angela2F2QU ADA is a dead product line, it has a replacement scheduled in 2-ish weeks whether you like it or not https://blogs.autodesk.com/technology-manager-community/2023/02/22/introducing-autodesk-access/?_ga=...

It may or may not improve these issues, only worldly testing by us real-world users will reveal all.
