ADA showing 2018 installs, but no updates for installed products

Running 2017 versions of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc. Autodesk Desktop app does not show any updates for these apps. Only lists 2018 software that is available. How do I make the updates available in the app?

Windows 10, IDSP Standalone License.

Hello@jbednarz

Thanks for your feedback.

Have you installed 2017 products? Have you installed any updates from Accounts?

Please try this

  • Exit ADA
  • Stop AdAppMgr Service
  • %Programdata% > Autodesk > Delete the “SDS” folder
  • Restart ADA.

Still you have problem, please try this,

Could you please send me(srinivasarao.potla@autodesk.com) the log files,i will investigate and get back to you.

Please find the attachment for log file instructions.

Regards,

Srinivas.

From the screen capture, it seems the license you have is AEC Collection. Can you confirm? Also, ADA shows only new updates available to the installed products.

I have license to both IDSP and AEC Collection. I have IDSP installed. Setting up two machines for users. Two identical machines. Prior to logging in, One has updates in ADA, the other doesn't. Tried logging in to see if the updates appear, but they dont.

You may be onto something though. We just converted our IDSP standalone licenses to AEC Collection. I'm still using IDSP to install on these computers.

I figured it would still allow me to install them, which it did. But I'll bet something stupid is going on with the access to updates for these users.

Yet another reason for me to despise Autodesk. There is no reason for them to deny updates. So what if I update software. If its not active, don't let me launch it.

New slogan: Autodesk: Making IT lives a living hell for 35 years.

I emailed you the log files you requested.

I also attempted to install Vehicle Tracking using ADA and was told that an AutoCAD product must be installed. AutoCAD, Civil3D, etc. are already installed. Doesn't specify if 2018 must be installed. I do believe the versions do not have to match.

This tells us that ADA does not recognize that any Autodesk software is installed. How do I fix that?adaproblems.JPG

I have the same issue a well, this desktop app doesn't really seem to work all that well. I've tried the solution above, it does not resolve the issue.

Hello@jbednarz,

Thanks for sharing log files. I think, it looks like you don't have access to the products(IDSP) now. could you please try to log in accounts.autodesk.com and check the available products for you?

Regards,

Srinivas
