Why?
To secure all legal notes from Autodesk e. g. installation is allowed on 3 devices you must define internal regulations. This regulation must be accepted by the user, otherwise he must not have access to download the software to install it on his own device for "home use"!
It must be devided between access for using the software and to download the software!
Additionally, for companies that do not restrict users admin access, we do not want users to be installing other Autodesk applications that IT is not supporting. More importantly, we do not want users installing a newer version of an application like Inventor that may not yet be compatible with our other internal systems. This also causes data compatibility issues within the business where one user starts creating data in Inventor 2023 and other users, still on Inventor 2021 in the company, are unable to open or work with that data. 100% agree that there should be a permission difference between what the user is licensed for and what the user is allowed to download, if anything at all.
