Trace an Outline of a Shape

Good afternoon!  I've come across a situation where I'd like to trace the outline of a funky symbol in AutoCAD and I immediately thought to try Raster Design.  However, in virtually every other demo or video I've seen, Raster Design is great at make a nice vector line, from a fuzzy / pixelated graphic.  My scenario is different where I have a solid shape surrounded by a background color, so there's only 1 edge for tracing, not two (like around a "fuzzy" line) and I can't seem to figure out how to create a trace around my shape.  Unfortunately, I can't share the original shape, but I knocked out a sample file of some simple text.  I really just want to create a tracing around these letters.  I'm thinking it's something simple that I'm missing and welcome any advice.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Hope all is well and have a most blessed day!

I'm not sure how far you've gotten on this, I see you posted a while ago.

I took a look at those files you sent, and I can't figure out a way to digitize the outline of the text in RD.  Works great for the center though. 

I thought perhaps in some of the text recognition options, then changing the test style would work however, if your other symbols aren't text then that wouldn't work for you anyway.  I'm honestly not sure if RD is the way to go on this...

Maybe someone else from the community has thoughts.

Good morning!  Thanks for the reply!  We pushed ahead with some conversion tools in Adobe Illustrator, which allowed us to make the image AutoCAD worthy.  However, I'm wondering if there is something within the Autodesk family of products that would fit the bill?  It doesn't have to be AutoCAD based, I'll take recommendations from anywhere.  If not, then I'll recommend my client work with Adobe Illustrator, but thought I would check with you & your team first.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Hope all is well and have a most blessed day!

I'm glad to hear you were able to get something to work!  There might be something in Autodesk Sketchbook that might do what you need, but I'm honestly not that familiar with it.  You might want to check it out though?

after that put a polygon around the text and BPOLY, new layer and click inside the polygon.  turn off the layer the text is on
