Replacing default clamp with new clamp geometry

Hi,

I am working on a spec that uses tri-clamp connectors. I added a clamp to the spec that was in the Plant 3D parametric graphics (2 bolt version) and modified the dimensions as required. I have now got a 3D solid drawing of a quick release clamp and want to replace the existing bolted clamp in the spec with this new model but when I go to create new component in catalogue and select AutoCad DWG block based graphics it does not allow me to select the Fastener- Clamp from the basic part family information. Can anyone advise how I can go about this.

Thanks

Hi Patrick,

We will be placing a Triclamp catalog and spec on the App Store in a week or 2.

Here is a video that demonstrates how to replace clamp geometries.

It relates to our DIN content but the procedure is the same.

Regards,

Bruce

a quick way to do this is to explode the clamp component then "bedit" it's block inside plant 3d.. but you'll need to do this on every DWG that you has to work with those clamps
