Plant 3D 2025 - FailedToOpenDatabase Connection Timeout Expired

I am currently testing Plant 3D 2025.  When I open Plant 3D the first time and it automatically attempts to connect to the most recent project, I get the error message pictured below.  After the error, if I browse and open the same Project.xml then the project loads fine.  We do not have this issue in 2024.

"Failed to load Project file ...

FailedToLoadCache PnPCompletionStatus.FailedToOpenDatabse Connection Timeout Expired."

@kevin.solari ,

What is the project structure?
Local or server storage location of the project?
SQLite or SQL Server database
Local or ACC
with or without Vault

Project is stored on a shared server (mapped as a network drive on my Windows machine) with SQL Server database.  No ACC or Vault.

@kevin.solari ,

Do you also have the rights to access the SQL Server database in P3D 2025?

Yes.  I only get that error one time upon first opening Plant 3D.  After I get the error, I click "OK", then I navigate to the very same Project.xml file on the shared server and it opens normally.

Then everything is fine again 😁

Agreed - it’s not a big problem, just more of an annoyance since it happens every time I open Plant 3D 2025.  I was wondering if others on 2025 see the same thing.  I am also worried it will happen for everyone in my office, once we upgrade to 2025 - but I’m not sure yet since I’m the only one testing on 2025 so far.

I would wait a little longer before switching to P3D 2025. You will save yourself a lot of problems.
