P&ID Transcription from dwg to Auto Plant P&ID

We have a large amout of P&IDs to transcript from dwg to auto Plant P&ID, but it is taking a lot of hous of work. Is there any way to become this job easier?

We already tray to convert by the ystem, but Just the equipments were converted.

Is there anyway to convert lines and instruments.

We also have to change the size of the sheet, and add all the conectors, so to do it in a easy way would heal a lot.

Thank you in advance.

Dear @michelle_pintoEHV27 ,

Do you mean AutoCAD Plant 3D P&ID?
Short answer: You will not be able to avoid redrawing all P&IDs.
We have already made many attempts to automate this, but with only moderate success.
The rework was so intensive that it was equal to the time we needed for the complete redraw, so we did not pursue automatic conversion any further.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Unfortunately there is no fast way to do this. There is the PIDCONVERT command, but this is still a component-by-component conversion. It does prevent you of having to delete and re-insert components.

In general, when confronted with 'living documents' You can create a project and copy all the AutoCAD drawings to the project. Then only when a sheet would need an update would the effort be made to convert the entire content of that sheet to P&ID objects. This way the monumental effort of having to convert tons of documents is spread over the lifetime of the project and the site. Offcourse this is not always doable and clients don't always want to hear this.

Hello

As @h_eger  and @Michiel.Valcke  say there is no quick way to convert.
However, to make your work easier and to avoid redoing a layout, it is possible to put in the background of the plan, under Xref, the DWG or PDF files on which you will rely to trace the P&ID.

This is the principle that I adopted to redo P&ID in Plant 3D

== French ==
