P&ID Migration

We're looking to migrate drawings from AutoCAD P&ID 2014 to Plant 3D 2024.  Our drawings use custom symbols, pallets & tagging. I've tried copying a drawing into a new Plant 3D 2024 project - but it doesn't bring in the custom class definitions. Is it possible to bring these drawings into Plant 3D 2024 without having to redefine everything?

Dear @rh8mpo ,

Technically this is possible, but you have already let 10 years go by to become active.
The first step is to migrate the 2014 project to a 2017.1 project
This would be the most difficult part.
Then from 2017.1 to 2018-2024 as the projects are upwards and downwards compatible between P3D 2018 and 2024.
Good luck with that.

Thank-you for your response. Unfortunately, we have no control over the software we use - as a company we have moved to ePlan, but we have a large on-going project on AutoCAD P&ID that we need to transfer to a newer version.

Fortunately, we have discovered that the transition is straight forward - opening the whole 2014 project in 2024 migrates all of the settings and definitions. We can then import the old pallets and we're good to go.
