Hi Everybody,

I need your assistance in the below issue;

The olets are appeared in a different page of the isometric drawings (see picture below.)1.JPG

Any ideas on this issue?

In the link below I have added the pcf file and the relevant pipe spec. I am also have trouble setting the tag of the pipe (size-service-line number-class-insulation type).

In my model all parts are connected. This is what happened when I added blind flanges;

When I place the olet to the pipe, the isometric drawing is split. When I move the olet and place it back the isometric drawing is not divided. I will work like this until I figure out a solution since it seems to work. The strange thing is that I have created a second project with the same specs which works fine. I appreciate your support @h_eger . Can you please assist me setting the tags of the pipe on the 3d model? My colleagues have set the tags to the P&IDs but I am having trouble setting them to the 3d model.

We need the exact specifications of the P&ID configuration as well as the target in Plant 3D.

I am afraid they cannot. I tried to implement what they did in the P&ID but with no success. The specifications are "size-service-line number-class-insulation type" (line number consists of 7 numerical digits). Regarding the target in Plant 3D, I am not following you. What do you mean?

Hi,

 

The answer to your question depends upon what your pipe tag actually refers to.

 

In P&ID and P3D there are actually 2 tags that can be applied to a segment/section of pipe  - a Line Number Tag and a Pipe Tag.

 

The Line Number Tag (your 7 digit number) is the unique identifier that is assigned to the whole of a process line, it is stored in the PipeLineGroup.Tag property in P&ID and the P3dLineGroup.Tag property in 3D.

 

The Pipe Tag is a label that can be attached to each individual segment of pipe, many segments of pipe can have the same pipe tag. This is stored in the PipeLineSegment.Tag property in P&ID and the Pipe.Tag property in 3D.

 

To implement a pipe tag in 3D to match your requirements is quite straightforward, you just need to define a tag format for the Pipe class.  However, you need to reference the P3d Line Group class to reference the Service, Line Number and Insulation Type values as these apply to all fittings on the line.

Dear @AndyDavisArkance ,

 

I followed your instructions and the pipe can be tagged the way I want. However, when a fitting like an elbow is attached to the pipe, the tagging is not set automatically and isometric drawings are generated which represent each component separately. In addition to this, the tagging is not shown on the iso.

Hi,

 

I think that you may be confusing the Line Number Tag and the Pipe Tag. 

 

The Line Number Tag applies to all segments of pipe and the fittings that are on the same line. So, once you've assigned a line number to a line, all fittings that are added to the line will share that line number.

 

The Pipe Tag is applied to segments of pipe only, other fittings require their own tag format.

In the above screenshots, you can see that the elbow and pipe both share the same line number of 1234567.  The pipe has a tag, but the elbow is not tagged.

 

You may find this helpful.

 

Iso's are generated per line number, they are not based on the pipe tag.  Your iso's are probably split because the fittings do not share the same line number as the pipe.

 

If you have created or modified the line number tag since you started your project, you may need to refresh the values so that they propagate to existing fittings correctly.  You can do this with the command: PLANTREFRESHACQPROPERTY

As you can see from the pictures below, the line number tag is not consistent even though each individual segment has been assigned properly. In the last picture I have selected the whole line.
