Metric Pump Nozzles

In a metric project I can’t choose an appropriate flange/nozzle for pump equipment created in Inventor or 'PLANTEQUIPMENTCONVERT'. The only available option is a DIN spec flange.

I can create a pump using 'PLANTEQUIPMENTCREATE' and get all the choices available to me.

Two hours later, still can’t figure it out. It has something to do with being a metric project  I think...

Creating an Imperial project I can add a ANSI spec flange to equipment but can't do it in a metric. How are the nozzles determined? They should be part of the spec.

Can anyone else offer input on this one?

Thanks,

Dave

The nozzles don't depend of spec. When you enter on add nozzle of equipment you need to select units (mm or in) depend of this unit the specification of nozzle will be ANSI or DIN.

Looks like I needed my wife to find it as it was right in front of my face!

Thanks for the really obvious red arrow!

These items come from the 'NOZZLE Catalogue.acat' file located in your 'AutoCAD Plant 3D 2011 Content' folder.

You can edit them and add new nozzle sizes using the spec editor. When your in the spec editor, make sure your on the 'Catalog Editor' tab then when you go to the open catalog window, pick '*.acat' from the file type drop drown list. You may need to clear the read only tick from the files properties before you can edit it.

Thanks for the info. It's good to know where it lives.

I am running Plant 3D 2012.

When I build a pump I can't change nozzle sizes? Any ideas why.

Thanks,

Mark

have you tried clicking on the pencil icons on your nozzles in the picture.

They should open a dialogue box where you can edit the sizes.

Control + select nozzle should give you the edit option.

in my case, I'm missing the mm unit nozzles for my vent nozzle type.

How to fix this?

Hi,

I don't see my nozzle spec anywhere but in my catalogue I have these mm units

I just couldn't get them when creating vent nozzle on my equipment.

The sizes in the listing need to be in mm, that's why its not showing in the nozzle dialog in P3D

I didn't see anything other than mm on my catalogue setting. Where were you pointing at?
