Mapping components other than Valves.

GOAL = to have as many custom components (strainers, flow conditioning devices, pumps etc) mappable + able to pull directly from p&iD line list as humanly possible.  

Yes, i'm aware AND have succeeded in producing a link (mapping) to custom valve components making them work perfectly from P&id line listValve settings.JPG<-(spec editor).  HOWEVER; what happens if my custom component isn't a valve? Example, a strainer... or a flow conditioning device flow conditioning device.JPG<-(tool palette)? When creating THESE components, there isn't a "valve alignment" + "valve body type" section. What category do we place THESE custom components under? valve settings 2.jpg<-(spec editor)? 

PROCESS = When creating custom 3d valves to map to p&id components, you have to; 1-create 3d design. 2-make that a block + "plantpartconvert" etc. 3-create spec editor component+add to your project's catalog/spec. 4-Edit correct P3DENUMERATION file using correct "valve body type" and "valve alignment" data from spec editor.  5-map in your project's setup.
QUESTION = What is step 3+4 equivalent process when creating custom strainer(or any non-valve component)  instead?

[All files saved locally working.  Only vpn to use Autodesk software]

Hi @michaels,

 

Only certain component types have the subtypes that are needed to make individual mappings for different types of the same component type.
