How to force RF to only connect to RF?

My Matching values are "Blank" (shown below)

I have a spec with RFWN & FFWN GASKETS and their insulation kit counterparts. Standard gaskets are the default and work great but we had a piper swap out the RFWN GASKET for a FFWN insulation kit (which should have been swapped out for RFWN insulation kit.)

Can we force a disconnect/error message when facing does not match for flanges when a part is swapped?

In the Piping Connection Settings you can put it back to only allow the same facing. If you don't want users to edit the Project Settings, make projsymbstyle.dwg read only for certain users/groups

Could you show a screen shot of what the connection settings would look like to:
"In the Piping Connection Settings you can put it back to only allow the same facing"
I already have the Facing as a requirement, see image.

Click on Facing and then have a look at the values in there

@jw7018 try to use spec filter property.

If my reply was helpful, please give a "Kudo" or click the "Accept as Solution" button below (or both).

Good guesses, but both solutions still allow for a RF gasket to be swapped for a FF.

The filter property solution works if the spec only had one or the other; "RF" or "FF."

In the Plant 3D dwg settings --> Piping Connection Settings --> Joint Setup --> Simple joints... you'll want to split out "Flanged joint" / FL to Flanged Joint Raised Face [FLRF] and Flanged Joint Flat Face [FLFF], so they're two distinct joint types, from there set up each one like you would any custom joint including bolt sets and gaskets.
