Create Custom Pipe Support

Hi All,

I have created a pipe support in Inventor and imported the model into Plant 3D.

Can anyone guide me or provide links to convert the model into a pipe support.

I am not looking for parametric support, i want to insert specific custom support for a certain size only and that these support should be shown on the ISO.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Roy.

Here is an approach from the PDO team

Google search "AutoCAD Pant 3D Custom Supports"

Thanks Eger.

But there was a problem in the ISO , the ISO shows the piping support but doesn't dimension the support location neither does it list the support in the Bill Of Materials.

Any idea how to rectify this ?

Is your support in the 3d model marked with the status "Existing"?
Looks like this on the Iso.
If yes, please set the status to "New"
Should work

Hi, for the standard Pipe SUpport you get positioning, list and dimensioning on the iso but for the custom one you get nothing even if set to New .

See image.

Any ideas?

thanks

Mauro-

Check your "Content Iso Symbol Definition" in the properties for the custom support in your model. Does it have "TYPE=SUPPORT" in addition to the SKEY? (see Hartmut's picture above -right above status)

The type definition is what determines which category an item is listed under in the BOM.

The TYPE and SKEY value are correctly set of course.

the result is that the "standard" support is taken into the isometric as BOM and with correct doimension whilst the custom one has neither info and dimension.

Why?

thanks

Could you possibly post a copy of your model with that straight pipe and both supports?

@mauro_spadaro,

I tested the drawing you attached and got the same results it did not dimensions your custom support.

I copied your support exploded a few time and made a new support. Same results.

What I discovered is you need to fill out the Descriptions for the support for it to dimension and show on the BOM
