I am very new to Plant 3D so please bare with me. I am creating a 3D model for my fueling system layout and there are some control valve step files I would like to use. I inserted the step file (valve) into my 3D drawing, converted the valve to equipment and then added nozzles (RF Flanges) to each end of the valve. Although I added class 150 raised face flanges to each end of the control valve, I cannot get it to connect to the raised face weld neck flange from the standard tool palette without a leak showing. Is there something that I am missing?

HI,

A couple of things to think about here.

1. To make a flanged connection using the default settings: the Nominal Diameter, Pressure Class and Facing values of the mating flange faces must match exactly.
2. If you're importing CAD models of valves, these would be better managed as piping fittings rather than equipment items. You would then be able to add them to a catalog/pipe spec(s) and have them available on your toolpalette.
