AutoCAD Plant 3D Cloud Collaboration

Hello Plant 3D Users

One of my group colleagues in the US has managed to setup a collaboration space, but is not sure how he managed it.

Essentially I would like to replicate his cloud working environment/methodology.

My colleague in the UK has access to the Project in the US, but all of his interaction is through Plant 3D.  He effectively "checks out" drawings from the Cloud Project using the Project interface in Plant.

The US guy believes this is working through plain A360, but having looked at the project setup there I am not sure how Plant would be configured to look at the cloud repository, or how the check out process would be initiated.

Does anyone work in this manner and know the background setup to achieve this?

My US colleague does not believe he is working through BIM360 as he is not running a separate license for this (he also does not think that BIM360 is a good fit with Plant).

Can anyone clarify the way forward please, as I am looking at provisioning this work method between UK and Indian offices.

Thanks

Phil

is this what your trying to do?

http://help.autodesk.com/view/PLNT3D/2019/ENU/?guid=GUID-0214C9CF-BCC6-48BE-A427-F84A5EA0256A

if so this does require a BIM 360 subscription which is a separate purchase

Thanks Darren

That looks like the mechanism we have running.

Is it just the project creator that needs to have the BIM360 license, or do all users accessing the project for check out/editing also need one?

It’s a tricky process setting up a hub for the first time. Here’s a guide to help: https://www.asti.com/plant-collaboration-in-bim-360-design/

Thanks Dave that's a useful how-to.

For some reason, if I close all drawings in a project, the collaboration ribbon greys out!!

This is the opposite of the behaviour I would expect.
