adding spec to plant 3D changes the properties seen in navisworks nwc file

I am adding a spec to plant 3D and for some reason adding the spec changes the output of the properties I see in the NWC file. Without the spec I can see all properties from Plant 3D to nwc. I add the spec and presto, very limited properties in Navisworks. Remove the spec and everything works again. the machine that created the spec can do all functions properly.  What gives?

What do you mean by "Remove the spec"?

I am working on a local project. No server or collaboration based. I right click on "Pipe Spec" in the Project Browser to copy spec to project. No problem. I can add the spec and draw pipe. Then when I run an NWCOUT I see very limited set of properties. Then when I right click to remove spec from project, the properties on NWCOUT behave as expected.
