Hi,
I just bought a new iPad Pro IOS13.2, with Apple Pencil Gen 2. When I use the autocad mobile app, my autocad don’t have any smart pen function like how your YouTube tutorials show. What am I doing wrong? Is it because I’m using the trial 7 day version? (Hope that’s not the case, I would wanna try the smart pen function before deciding to buy the app.)
please help me!

Okay, my problem has been solved, and the solution, simple as it is, may work for you, too.
My problem was that after a recent upgrade, most of the tools in AutoCAD Mobile disappeared.
Turns out that there is a Beta version of AutoCAD Enhanced out there, and the Beta doesn't have all tools enabled yet. However, something glitched in my recent upgrade; Acad was stuck in Beta mode, but the big, obvious toolbar at the top of the app that lets you turn Beta mode on or off was not showing up, so I had no idea that I was in Beta mode.
Solution was to completely uninstall the app from the iPad and reinstall from scratch. Once it reinstalled, the toolbar that let me switch Beta mode off appeared, and when I turned off Beta mode, all of the tools showed back up and worked they way they have in previous versions.
GIve this a try, and hopefully you'll see Smart Pen (and all of the other missing tools) once again.
I have been using the smart pen for the last days and it disappeared suddenly, also the insert image button. But I can’t find the on/off button for the beta version. Where is it? I have uninstalled and installed again many times but I can’t seem to find it.
In another thread, user pendean suggested some additional steps. All I needed to do was uninstall/reinstall, but maybe if you try the additional step of clearing files after the uninstall, it might fix your issue.
1. Log out of the app then Un-install the app <<<<IMPORTANT
2. Delete the cache and other files of the apps if your mobile OS has that feature (do it via file manager)
3. Restart your tablet/phone <<<IMPORTANT
4. Re install the app and log back in with your subscription login info only.
I found this page that explains how to clear an app cache:

Forget Apple Pencil on Bluetooth and connect it again
You can essentially reset your Apple Pencil by removing it from your iPad’s Bluetooth devices, restarting your iPad, and then pairing the Apple Pencil again.
How do I remove Apple Pencil from my iPad’s Bluetooth?
On your iPad or iPad Pro, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
Find your Apple Pencil under My Devices and tap the blue i button.
Tap Forget This Device.
When your iPad has forgotten the Apple Pencil, restart your iPad and then pair your Apple Pencil again. If you still don’t see an option to pair, charge your Apple Pencil for longer.
I have an apple iPad Pro and the autocad app works on it.AutoCAD isn’t good with a tablet and other than the phone app, AutoCAD doesn’t support tablet interfaces . but Keyboard and drawing tablet / mouse is always the best.
It's much easier working on screen now, especially with context sensitive ribbons.
XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro screen Art tablet , hotkeys and spacenavigator combination might work a lot better, because you can use while working on the Artist 15.6 Pro .
Hello
this is your solution as below
Solution was to completely uninstall the app from the iPad and reinstall from scratch. Once it reinstalled, the toolbar that let me switch Beta mode off appeared, and when I turned off Beta mode, all of the tools showed back up and worked they way they have in previous versions.
so help me here, where is this "toolbar"? I still can't fix my problem
The toolbar is no longer visible to me. It is supposed to appear when you open the app and go to the home screen, where the Main Menu is visible (the three lines in the upper left corner that bring out a side menu).
This app is simply broken, and the people who are working on it are not getting any of the emails we send to support. All of the replies I have received when I send a support request have been automated 'bot' replies that have nothing to do with the support requests I have sent.
They are obviously working on the app continuously, because new updates appear in the App Store every week. But the problems we are all experiencing are not being addressed.
Either Autodesk is not sending these complaints to the development team, or the team simply doesn't care about end users at all.
Either way, this is the single worst Autodesk software situation I've ever encountered.
After I first downloaded the app, I had the same issue with the numeric keyboard functioning that others reported. Followed the advice from this forum and reinstalled, this worked for a few day.
Now the app is broken again, missing tools, cannot change the background colour, numeric keyboard gone...
A consistently unreliable app.
Same problem here. No way te get Apple Pencil smart function to work on iPad Pro. I tried everything but I was unsuccessful. Can you confirm it’s an app issue?
thanks.
Stefano.

Hello
the current status with the Mobile App is described in the article "AutoCAD mobile app updates". The article is more generally speaking, but it includes also the Smart pen and Apple pencil support.
The AutoCAD mobile app is upgrading to a more robust experience with improved graphics and functionality that more closely resemble the desktop version of AutoCAD. You can still design and create drawings anytime and anywhere.
The latest iOS release (version 5.0) includes:
We are constantly reviewing our app to determine whether we are doing everything we can to achieve a great result. To focus on our new technologies, we have decided to temporarily discontinue supporting some functionalities such as Plot to PDF, Leica Disto integration, GPS and non-DWG file support. This will allow us to concentrate our efforts on developing and delivering better tools for you.
This means that you are not doing anything wrong when it comes to the handling of these functions. They are currently not available and for the Apple pencil, currently only drawing lines is available.

Aside from SmartPen and the other features mentioned, they have also removed the Marker annotation commend, making it impossible for me to freehand sketch on my DWGs in the field - a devastating loss for me, since it is the number one command I used in the app, and it now takes me five times longer to make a few simple notes or sketch lines in the field.
Also note that these features have been "temporarily" disabled in the app for SIX MONTHS. And no Autodesk rep has ever given me a straight answer to two simple questions:
1) Why were these improvements not made off line and deployed when ready, to avoid REMOVING vital features from the currently deployed app?
2) When (if ever) will these vital features be restored the app? It's been six months - are you working on it at all, or is the entire upgrade on hold? If the upgrade is on hold, why not re-deploy the previous version of the app which had all of these vital features, until or unless the upgrade process resumes?
In over thirty years of dealing with Autodesk products, this is the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with either a piece of software or with technical support/customer relations. They have reached out to me after angry emails or posts here several times, and continuously asked me, "Well, what is it that you want?" The answer is always the same, has not changed in the six months that this debacle has continued: "I need the Marker tool and SmartPen."
Note: These disabled tools still exist in the current Android version of AutoCAD Mobile.
I’m having the same situation, no pencil option and right now I’m starting to use the New magic keyboard with trackpad iPad Pro 12.9 4gen, and the only way to input a line iS by clicking on the keyboard and manually typing length and angle, it really makes me miss my laptop. It was way better when one click drag direction, input length enter. I hope the fix this soon or be ending my subscription and going back to carrying my laptop everywhere.
