Bosch GLM Support

Are there any plans to support other laser measure devices such as the Bosch GLM series? Trying to decide if I should by the Leica Disto or wait to see if Bosch devices get added.

Can Bosch now be linked. Also, my win 10 version of mobile app on my 2 in 1 does not even have a feature for distance finder link. why is that. Please link ASAP. as 2 in 1 laptops are better for site work. Perhaps Autocad itself can utilise distance finders.

The Win10 MobileApp is nothing more than the AutoCADWEB service you can get through a webbrowser.
And so far you cannot link anything to the webbrowser server.

For Full AutoCAD, your Bosch tool has to provide an add-in for it to work I suspect: you'll need to reach out to Bosch support for what your options are today.

Hello Wayne @wayneB52SL

Could the information provided by @pendean help you and answer your question?

Based on the post above, let me add the information (even though it is a different topic), that you can link / connect to some things from the webbrowser:

But for hardware like the Bosch GLM it is true.

Based on this fact, a topic already exists in the AutoCAD Mobile Ideas section: Bosch GML Support. I can only encourage you to vote for this idea to influence future decisions about this topic.

If you wish this feature to be improved in the future, Please also provide feedback at feedback.pro@autocadmobile.com

Could the information help you and answer your question even though it was not a solution for your situation?

If yes, please click on the "Accept as Solution" button as then also other community users can easily find and benefit from the information. If not please dont hesitate to give an update here in your topic so all members know what´s the progression on your question is and can suggest next steps that might be helpful for you to achieve what you´re looking for.

Best regards,

Thomas

Autodesk really needs to put some effort into the mobile app as it really sucks, I have used other apps that are much better- try Arcsite, as it actually draws walls you don’t need to offset the lines, and it works with Bosch and Leica laser measurer.

@Anonymous @rafail6MQ5N User suggestions for improving the app are best done where Autodesk looks for them, over here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-on-mobile-ideas/idb-p/228

The idea has been there since 2018. It’s like this has been ignored. You can easily find the Bosch app kit and implement it in your autocad app. Magicplan, ArcSite , and other apps already have this support but not Autocad ?

Hi,

What is even more amazing.
Autocad used to have support for the Leica in the older version of mobile app.
So I purchased a Leica D2. Only to find it does not work either.
Acad users should not have to pay for 3rd party products to do this.
What is the point of the mobile app. If you cannot add to drawings on site with a digital laser.
I still mark up on paper when I survey. Mad that Acad have not jumped on this.
Even Leica software only export single line rooms.
Leica’s older software allowed for floor plans with wall thickness.
Now just as quick to mark up on paper and draw back in office than use their software.

Sadly, it means nothing to point that out in this exact forum. Sorry.

and 1 or few reports/requests back in 2018 has little to no impact as opposed 1000s of requests often and every year. That's just a reality. How badly do you really want it?

Note: if you need the abilities of the other apps today, then you need to do what is best for you. Autodesk's CEO says they expect all of us to do so.

Good luck.
