Just thought I'd put my two cents in... I believe there is a universal way of removing unreconciled layers. I think you go under layer manager and then go to settings... Turn off evaluate new layers check box. that should do it. Not sure if it carries over projects but you shouldnt have to worry about it when in that particular project again.
