Update Autocad 2020 if using Autocad Mechanical 2020?

if you are using Autocad Mechanical 2020 do you need to update Autocad 2020?  i keep my Autocad Mechanical updated but my Autodesk Desktop app shows me updates to Autocad 2020.  is just plain or standard Autocad still the base of the Mechanical, Electrical, etc.?  and do I need to keep it updated also?

Hello,

Fixes in AutoCAD will benefit AutoCAD Toolsets as well. AutoCAD provides performance improvements as well as certain feature enhancements in their updates. 

So, always install the latest AutoCAD as well as AutoCAD Mechanical updates. 
The latest AutoCAD 2020 Update 1.2, has fixed some fatal errors in AutoCAD Mechanical 2020. 
Please update your Mechanical with the latest AutoCAD Update1.2.
