Problem in copy and paste as block in Autocad Mechnical 2009

Dear all,

We are facing problem in copy and paste it as block in Autocad Mechanical 2009. As per the suggestion available in forum, we created a new file and copy all the objects and paste in new file. Then we tried the same thing where it is working fine. To correct this problem in existing file, what should we do as we are working most of the time inside the documentum. So, new file creation is not possible inside the documentum.

Regards,

Suresh

Hi

Can you explain what is the problem you are facing in copy/paste a block? Did you still have this problem after patching service pack?

BTW, instead of copying all objects and pasting in the new file, can you try WBLOCK as well?

Thanks.

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your reply.

We have attached the sample drawing file in which we are facing copy and paste-block problem. Kindly try this command and provide as the solution. In your reply, you have mentioned to use the WBLOCK command. But, we need the blocks in another assembly drawing which is already existing. If we use WBLOCK  command, new drawing file will create which is not required.

Suresh

Hi Suresh,

Thanks for providing more information.

Now I see what you mean. You can try to save it as dxf file and then save it back to dwg.

Thanks.

We were using 2010 and just went to 2012 and if you use the Ctrl C to copy a block or non block you can paste it in another drawing as a block by using Ctrl-Shft-V. Hope that helps
