E-Transmitt will not allow me to bind in AutoCAD Mech 2016. The option is there but it is grayed out. anyone know why?

Hi

One reason I see is; AutoCAD mechanical has Structure workflow.  If a structure drawing is xrefed in to another drawing and if the xref drawing is Xref-binded, the structure intelligence is lost.  There won't be any relation between different views created in the structure workflow.

Thanks,

I am not sure I understand the structured work flow. this I a drawing or a number of drawing not bound into another drawing not bound into it yet. so as I am working on this drawing there are live xrefs. When I am finished with the drawing I want to copy to another directory bound because customers will not be able to have access to the drawings that are Xrefed. I can manually bind the drawing but many times there are many drawings to bind and the only whey I know is to do it in e-transmit as I did before 2016 but now I cannot

Hi

You may either launch AutoCAD profile from Windows>>Start>>Programs>>Autodesk>>AutoCAD Mechanical >>AutoCAD, open the drawing file and use Etransmit.

OR in Mechanical, you can bind multiple files at a time in the Xref Palette.

Open Xref Palette>>Select all the drawing >>Right mouse click and select Bind

Hope this helps

Thank you Sridhar,

Launching Acad from the start menu worked great. I still need to try to save that as a profile so I do not need to launch from the start menu every time I want to use E- Transmit, but at least I can Bind with E-Transmit.

You may right click on Acad icon in the start menu>>Send to>>Desktop (Shortcut)
