Hello,
Context:
I am new in Autocad Map 3D and I am testing the program to check if the program is suitable for my use case.
The main goal now is to use the dimension extension to create orthogonal dimensions.
The data I am currently using are SHP-files.
I have found these desriptions:

Current status:
In the Industry Model explorer, I right-click the Dimension feature class and click Orthogonal Complete.
Then I am asked to specify the abscissa start.
I click on the first point of a building wall and the function ends.
In this forum discussion, someone has similar problems:

Up to this point, everything went quiete well. I had some problems regarding my SHP-files, but that is sorted out.
But to get ahead at this point, you obviously need to have progammed autocad yourself. Feature classes, oracle database, ....
Is it really so incredibly complex? Normal dimensions are very easy to use.
