Template building from photogrammerty

1. Hi I really would appreciate some help with a question i have about photogrammetry. I am.in the marine business. I want to be able to go to a boat, take pictures in a photogrammetry manner. Then I want to be able to back to my office and with the pictures Or scene I took be able to trace around specific areas then pull templetes. Is this posible to do with in Recap Photo? I have added some pictures give give moreless what I'm trying to templete. Thank you I hope someone can help me

Yes, this is possible with ReCap Photo.

Just one tipp: as your pictures look very similar you should use some objects which make a position  unique, small stickers with individual figures or letters are a good help for the algorithm to find the positions together.

Thank you for the info, I really appreciate it. Ok when you say to place
letters, is that maybe letters i can just print off Adobe...etc? I know
how tontake the pictures and have made.some 3d models lof my boat like you
see in the picture. My my question is after i take the pictures and created
the 3 d model, what do from there? Where do i place the letter that you say
of? How do i trace the surface and make sure its in scale?

No, simply handwritten symbols, just to give the calculation a unique identification, like that ...

These should be placed before you create the pictures to send to ReCap Photo.

They should be positioned all around your boat where a structure looks quite similar. In a room with 4 white walls and a white ceiling I would place 2 or 3 of these symbols on each wall, at least you should not have any photo with just white wall without a unique identification, otherwise the algorithm would not know which wall (and where) this image belongs to.

Yes definitely makes sense! I got it. Ok so once I take the pictures with
the letters and create my 3d model, are there videos I can look up to learn
how I trace the deck on my computer and so it is to scale? Or..do I need to
input this into my AutoCad?

Hi,

after you have taken the photos, you upload them to ReCap Photo. There it will create a mesh from your object(s).

You can download the mesh as FBX or OBJ and then it's up to you what you want to do with that.

You can import it into AutoCAD to trace edges, you can use it with 3DS for visualization, ... all up to you, I don't know what you want to get as final result.
