Import GML in C3D 2022

Hi everyone.

I have read this threat on how to import a GML file but I still fall short.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-map-3d-forum/how-to-import-all-fields-of-my-gml-file/td-p/101...

Could someone please help me out? Maybe @ChicagoLooper knows what to do?

Coordinate system is ETRS89.UTM-32N (Denmark).

CityGML and GML (Geography Markup Language) promps "Invalid data or no data found".

UK OS MasterMap Topography layer lets me continue to the import options however nothing imports when hitting "OK".

A colleague of mine succeeded importing the GML using a different software and then exporting it to .DWG. However I would love to be to import GML files using C3D.

Thank you in advance.

We were able to read your GML file into CAD using our driver, so your file does not appear to be the problem.

Thank you for checking it out. Did you manage to read the file using C3D map import?

Would you be kind to share how you did it?

I didn't try it since you reported the file returned an error.  I've also seen a past post indicating problems with GML in Map3D.  I was primarily looking at it to make sure there were no problems with your particular file.

We successfully imported directly into CAD using our own GML driver (in our add-ons).

Hello @mhvNPD59

Jelling Denmark, correct?

I cannot open your GML in Civil3D. Even if I use format known as UK OS MasterMap Topography Layer, the GML won't come in.

1. MAPIMPORT in Civil3D doesn't work.1. MAPIMPORT in Civil3D doesn't work.

I can open your GML using SURFER.2. Your GML can be opened in SURFER.2. Your GML can be opened in SURFER.

I can open your GML using GLOBAL MAPPER.

3. Your GML in Global Mapper with Open Topo Map background.3. Your GML in Global Mapper with Open Topo Map background.

I was also able to EXPORT from Global Mapper to three (3) separate shapefiles: One for Points, another for Lines and the third for Polygon. You have all 3 feature classes in your GML so I needed 3 separate shapefiles.

Thank you for testing the GML in detail! I appreciate that.
We've found that it imports fine using Bentley OpenRoads as well as free online GML converters.

I would like for it to work in C3D as well as it is my main software. I guess that is not possible with out add ons.
