Dynamic Text Field - Initials

Hi, 

First time posting here so please move into appropriate topic if needed. 

I'm currently trying to automate filling in some of the details we have to put on our drawings. One of them is a created by text field. I've found option for it to auto-populate with first name initial followed by surname. However, I'd like it to appear as e.g. JS instead of JSmith. Is it possible to do this?

You can use a diesel expression.  Can you show with image or something where you have found the first initial and surname?

Assuming you got first name initial followed by surname from the typical ‘login’ user name, then you can use a DIESEL expression. 

Example:

User’s 1st name: Smokey

User’s Surname: Bear

Login Name: SBear

The diesel expression would be like this.

I've managed to set this up using a text with a field SystemViariable > username and just changed it from my full name in AutoCAD profile to just initials. 

The diesel expression above does work too and is probably a more "correct" solution. Thanks!
