How do I add text to the end of this field?  Is this syntax after SQL or just some nameless hybrid?

Hi Keith,
You'd use CONCAT in Text Function.

Thanks!

For posterity here's what I ended up with to get the foot symbol apostrophe added: CONCAT (ToString("Contour") ,'''')

Hi @KDAddison

Yes, @Pointdump is correct. Use CONCAT. Assuming your label is constant, it doesn't vary from contour-to-contour, then your expression will be like this.

Click Text Function dropdown. (Image-1)

Your custom text, when enclosed in single quotes, would take this form. If you want a space to separate the elevation from you custom text, then make your expression look like this. (Image-2)

The result will capture the elevation from the shapefile's database and concatenate, or group, it with the custom text that's written in the expression.
