Export hatch to kml

Hello

I need to export city owned properties to kml but I need them to be hatched. So far I've only got the polyline to export but not the hatch. How do I get the hatch to export as well?

Thanks

Clint

Assuming your hatch is not solid; currently you would need to explode the hatch, export to KML, then undo.  Or you could save before exporting, explode, close and reopen the drawing.  Perhaps at some point in the future they will export solids as semi-transparent fills and export the hatch contents automatically.

Thanks. That's a crude way of doing it and creates a lot more objects but it works.

Do you have Civil 3D? If you do, then you can export in Toolspace>Toolbox tab>Misc Utilities>Export KML. You can pick which object to export, e.g. polylines, hatch. Then from GE Pro, File>Open.......then, in the 'Places' panel on left, you'll have separate selectable layers for the parcel lines and the hatch.

Toolspace>Toolbox>Export KML.Toolspace>Toolbox>Export KML.Places panel>Layers for polygon & hatch.Places panel>Layers for polygon & hatch.

I have tried the same process on civil 3D and have GE pro. whenever I try to select the hatch for a kml export it gives me a "No Model Space Objects Found to Export" error. I am only able to export polylines, points and polylines. Any suggestions?

@jmihalco

While in Modelpace, select the hatch. With the hatch still selected, take a screen shot of the Properties Palette so the hatch properties can be seen. Take a second screen shot, but this time select the hatch boundary. Make sure the second screen shot capture the Properties Palette so the boundary props can be seen.

Also, does the export procedure create an outline without hatch when exporting? Or does the export completely fail without creating anything?

I have attached two screen shots with the hatch selected and the boundary selected, both showing the properties palette. When The KML is produced, it grabs everything but the hatch lines, and the boundaries lines used to create the hatch. hatch properties.JPGhatch boundary.JPGgepro.JPG
