DRAW ORDER NOT HONORED DURING PLOT

I added orthophotos to a Map 3D 2025.0.1 drawing via "Data Connect->Add Raster Image or Surface Connection", then XREF'd a drawing containing topography lines.

Plots via "Output->Export->PDF" and "SSM->Publish->Publish to PDF" both show just the orthophotos and no topography.

The attachment shows snips from the layout and from the PDF.

The orthophotos are about 300 MB and the topo is about 50 MB.

I've tried:

  • Draw Order->Bring to Front
  • Draw Order->Bring Above Objects
  • binding the XREF (bind, not insert)
  • hardware accel on / off
  • DirectX 11 / 12
  • 2D Display Settings->Basic / Intermediate / Advanced
  • REA

Hi,

In Map workspace palette you could try to add the layer in which you have inserted your XREF and put it above your FDO raster

@dave_evans46Q8H

When you add your XREF, what layer does it land on? Can you upload an image of the Layer Properties Manager that shows the Xref's hosting layer?

Thank you for the idea.  Since I'd already "bound" the XREF, I couldn't do exactly what you suggested.  But your suggestion did make me notice that the "task pane" has a "Draw Order" tab (which I'd been oblivious to until then), and I used that tab to switch the position of the "Map Base" and the raster group.  That worked!  Odd that the standard "select entity->(rt clk)->Draw Order->etc." approach didn't/doesn't work.  Thank very much!

Thank you for the reply.  Since I'd already "bound" the XREF, I couldn't do that.  But the comment by @O_Eckmann led me to a solution that works.
