Can 2 users edit the same shape file?

I'm working on an Autocad map project. It has cad elements, but also is referencing a shape file that we are constantly building.  Is it possible for 2 users to have different maps open referencing the same shape file, and have both users edit/add to the shape file? Thanks.

Hi,

as long as your storage space do not block the file access for the second user then it should work.

AutoCAD Map 3D checks out the features you are editing, and these features should then be blocked on the other workstation ... up to the changed are saved back.

But I have not tried that ...
