autocad map 3d doesn't read .cpg file from shapefile

HI,

I have .shp with .cpg file (utf-8), but autocad doesn't read .cpg correctly because it's not displaying characters well in table.

With Qgis I have same problem, but in Qgis I can change from system encoding to use encoding from .cpg file.

How to solve problem in AutoCad?

Hi,

afaik AutoCAD Map 3D does not eval the CPG-file.

If you can define a setting in QGIS then run a conversion in QGIS to another type of datastore, so hopefully the chars get converted.

You might also try to run command _MAPIMPORT (importing to object-data), are the char's the same wrong ones then?

I tried to convert in Qgis and with mapimport (OD) but nothing changes.

Still looking for solution.
