Connecting To an Excel Database Issues

Hello All,

Thank you for taking your time to help others. I have ran into an issue connecting to an excel database that seemed difficult to explain with my limited knowledge of what I was actually doing. In order to make thing a little more clear I created a recording using screencast showing my issue.

I am using Civil 3D 2015

Thanks,

Dave

Hi!

I assume you have 64 bit Civil and 32 bit Office installed.

This is the problem you  dont see Excel driver in the list in Data sources.

This can fix you issue:

Second option is install 64 bit Office.

Kajar,

Thanks for the information. After looking into it, I had a 32bit installed. I did an uninstall and installed 64 bit. I am still having issues.

To All,

My end goal is to create 2 shp files that anothe company can import into their GIS system. 1 Shape file of the actual strs with the data from the excel files attached, and 1 shape file for the pipe with the information from the spreadsheet attached.

Maybe someone knows a different way to accomplish this goal? I am open to any suggestions and appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Dave

Kajar,

I originally thought the solution you posted was to just install a 64 bit version of the software. After a closer look I realized they suggested a download of Microsoft Access Database Engine. Downloading this software did in fact fix my problem, Interestingly on the 32 bit database. Thank you for your help.
