A small example recently posted on the forum: statistics about OD, viewing OD in the table, finding elements without the specified OD, attaching these elements to the required OD.

But the list is longer. The necessity of these possibilities is confirmed by daily use - they greatly accelerate, simplify and improve the work.

What other advanced features of working with Object Data may be needed?
For example, add a drawing with the Object Data on the sample of the specified existing object.  Import/export in kml/kmz, geojson. What else?

The resulting plugin could be a prototype for Autodesk add-ons for Object Data.
We could gather such additions to the forum participants, and offer as a general idea from many experienced users.

I have long been trying to publish ODEDIT in the Autodesk App Store.
Yesterday they wrote to me:
"...Autodesk App Store does not support Map 3D...
Also we will be removing our product name “Map/Civil 3D” from the app name..."
And further:
"Civil 3D 2015 – 2018 versions supports only Win 64 bit operating systems.

Hence could you to change the OS to ‘Win64 only’?".
With the fact that Map 3D 2015-2016 supports Win 32 bit.

Fixed bug in Set values from text, ODEDIT_SETTEXT command. Added an Tolerance to search for items relative to texts. The ability to load the contents of MText into OD values is added.

Added Copy values from reference, ODEDIT_COPY_VALUE command - copying only field values from the OD of the sample object in OD specified graphic elements. The OD itself is not copied.

Added Add values from OD to OD, ODEDIT_ADDVAL_OD2OD command - adding values from one OD field to the field of another OD. The command is executed for graphic elements to which different ODs are simultaneously attached.

In Autodesk App Store, finally, ODEDIT  appeared.
In my opinion, the signs of Map 3D discrimination are present:
1. ODEDIT could be attributed only to Civil 3D.
2. It was impossible to declare the 32-bit version for 2015-2016, because they are not supported by Civil 3D ...
Still it was impossible to do without the installer in the App Store. Although, in my opinion, enough arx.
It's good that the archive with arx in the App Store is preserved all. After running msi, everything from the archive will appear in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\Alexander Sharov ODEDIT for Object Data.bundle\Contents\. In this folder you can take arx for 2011-2016 and for 32-bit.
But you can take directly from my previous message - the version in the App Store fully corresponds to it.

Unable to load odedit_demo_OD_2017_64b.arx  with _appload in MAP 3D

1. The ARX file (odedit_demo_OD_2017_64b.arx - https://yadi.sk/d/uHXwaJTF3VMd7n) worked before on my computer and suddenly stopped loading. I get "Unable to load odedit_demo_OD_2017_64b.arx".
2. I am sure my Autocad version is 64 bit 2017.
3. I tried different opening the file with another computer (version is 64 bit 2017) and it also did not load.
4. I tried downloading the original file again.
5. I tried to repair Autocad.
6. Other ARX files seem to work on my pc.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

1. Try downloading ODEDIT from the App Store. There is an msi installer created by the App Store. But after running msi, the folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\Alexander Sharov ODEDIT for Object Data.bundle\Contents\ appears, in which all arx 2011-2018, 32b, 64b and the program description.
2. Wait 1-1.5 weeks - we are preparing a new version of ODEDIT with fixes and additions.

Fixed bug in Set values from text, ODEDIT_SETTEXT command for closed polylines.

Added ODEDIT_TRANSLATE command - replace OD names, OD fields names, values in OD fields in the active dwg. Replacements based on user-generated matching-files for OD names, OD fields names, values in OD fields.

The command makes it possible to work with decrypted values, if in the end it is necessary to create code values. For example, the values of the OD "color" field should as codes: 1, 2, ..., 255. Or: FF0014, FFF014, ..., 14FFF0. Etc. But the user can write the color in clear words: "yellow", "red", "blue", etc. And before the end of work, you can replace the clear names with such codes.
Or for foreign customers with a different language (Chinese, Arabic, Swedish, etc.), you can do all the work in OD in your language, and before the completion, translate it into the customer's language.

This is a "secret" command - it is not in the menu. 🙂

Although your version on APPSTORE is demo-mode,

Can I use it on two PCs (with 2 autorised MAP 2017 and 2 IDs Autodesk), for production on a real project.

For example, I have more than 1000 polylines (45km), and maybe between 10 and 20 fields to manage).

Because solution with .SDF or .SHP (FDO connection) displeased me.

What about copyright and durability of your code, apply to my project case (including services provided by Autodesk Appstore-terms of contract)?

ODEDIT does not add any of its limitations to either the OD or the model.
1000 polylines with 10-20 fields for characteristics is a bit. According to my impressions OD, even very "heavy", do not reduce the speed of work in AutoCAD.

ODEDIT - free functional demo version. It can be used in any convenient way. Until October-November, I do not plan any significant changes, except for corrections, improvements and, possibly, additions.

Copyright belongs to me.   But only on the idea of ​​the extensive use of the capabilities of Object Data as a convenient and technological internal database. And to implement this idea - on the plugin ODEDIT itself. But only this.
ODEDIT users have two duties:
1. use or not use,
2. to praise or scold.
Depending on the mood.

By the way, I've already written many times that it would be better for everyone to have Autodesk do it.

ODEDIT_TRANSLATE is added to the menu. ODEDIT_TRANSLATE has the ignoring of spaces before and after the values ​​- from random user errors.

In ODEDIT_REPLACE the possibility of using masks - "*" is added not only for replaceable, but for replacement values. For example, to add characters at the beginning of the values, at the end of the values: "abc *", "* abc", etc.

Made ODEDIT_CALCULATE - calculations in the OD fields. But the forums expressed doubts about the need for such a command. Therefore, this command was not added to the demo version.

Added ODEDIT_LOAD_ATTRS, ODEDIT_STORE_ATTRS, ODEDIT_ATTR_TEMPLATE - commands for loading attribute contents in OD fields, uploading OD field values ​​to attributes, creating a template file for describing the correspondence of attributes and fields.
ODEDIT_LOAD_ATTRS is more powerful and unambiguous than loading attributes into OD fields using ADEGENLINK. Once created, the attributes/fields correspondence files can be saved and transferred to other users.

Total, now in the demo version of ODEDIT already 34 commands.

I also installed the msi file from the appstore but I get  "_ODEDIT_CTL Unknown command "ODEDIT_CTL".  

Maybe this has something to do with upgrading to Autocad Map 2019?
