Xref layers showing in the dropdown despite the non-Xref layer setting in the manager

recently i switched to autocad LT 2022 from its previous version and i noticed a low-key annoying habit of it: when i open a drawing with an xref attached and click the layer dropdown, it shows me all layers, including the xref ones, despite the 'all non-xref layers' filter saved in the layer manager. to fix it i have to open the layer manager and close it [without even doing anything in it] - then it reminds itself 'ah yeah, the non-xref setting, sorry'. 🙄 it happens with all the files with an xref inside.
is it a bug? is it just my copy doing weird stuff? or am i doing something wrong with the settings [although i just migrated the settings from the previous version]?

Not seeing anything like that here in LT2022.1 in Win10 here with saved layer filters selected.
What is your VISRETAIN set to in all of the file you open?

Start ABOUT command: if it does not show 2022.1 as your current version then you have an update to install (a PC restart is required after that).

all of the files have VISRETAIN set to 1. both the file i'm working on and the xref dwg. i checked this with files from different projects too and it's also set to 1.

i have updated the autocad to 2022.1 [correct me if i'm wrong: wasn't the info about the pending update usually shown in the 'my products' section of the autodesk desktop app under the autocad product? cause i was checking it for updates from time to time and there was no info and only now i notice there's a separate 'my updates' section].

anyway, there is no change. i still see the xref layers in the dropdown when i open a file with an xref attached.

Can you ETRANSMIT your top file with XREF(s) for testing here? Perhaps I am missing something I am not doing in my files/xrefs.

i'm attaching a simple drawing with an xref i have created for this purpose. it shows the same 'problem'.

i checked the layer settings and the 'apply layer filter to layer toolbar' is ticked.

Where is the XREF file? XREFs are separate DWG files from the top file.

Thanks.

Here is what your file behaves here in LT2022.1 in Win10Pro for me:

And this after just starting LAYER to confirm your desired setting:

I cannot replicate your issue if I am correct, do you agree? Or did I miss a step.
