Hello, AutoCAD community,

The AutoCAD team wants to hear your impressions of AutoLISP, specifically around its availability in the 2024 release of AutoCAD LT.

It seems the core DLINE command is currently broken in AutoCADLT2024 v1.0?

"AutoCADLT2024 v1.0?" means "AutoCADLT2024" (2024.0.0)?

In German-version it works

DLINIE and _DLINE (and _.DLINE)

file: ACDLINE.ARX

located in the root program folder (which is not part of the listed supportpathes).

@cadffm A reset of LT2024 was the fix. Odd. Oh well.

Still?

Not?

So all years such files are useless in LT?

And arx Errors are only to kidding LT Users?

The question was not if you can use this api for your own stuff 😉

Please confirm - Autolisp is only available in the Windows version of AutoCAD LT?  Unless I am mistaken, it doesn't seem to be available in the 2024 version of AutoCAD LT for Mac.

Will user functionality such as access through the CUI/manage ribbon, and commands such as vlisp be made accessible for autocad lt users? Can load in using appload, but not a clear route to using them if you don't know that command.

I'm new to Lisp and I have no coding experience. How to load a lisp code that Chatgpt wrote?

The Help documents show these steps which are not found in AutoCAD LT

  1. In AutoCAD, do one of the following:
    • (Windows) On the ribbon, click Manage tab

       Applications panel

       Load Application.
    • (Mac OS) On the Mac OS menu bar, click Tools

       Load Application.
    • At the Command prompt, enter appload.

@marc.khalil Just drag and drop it from the LSP file location to your open LT2024 session. Assuming that chatGPT actually works, most often it does not.

Start with this page to explore the topic of LISP and LT2024 more https://blogs.autodesk.com/autocad/autocad-lt-2024-autolisp/

What is the logic behind not including lisp functionality in the CUI/manage ribbon?

Thanks

I know GPT has limitations, so I'm trying simple things. I tried to make a lisp to create serial numbers to count object (baby steps) and I got it to work after about 4 revisions.

After that I tried to make a lisp to create a delta, it works okay but is not ready to fully use. I'm trying to learn, I don't know if there is LISP For Dummies.

I had the same issue until I found that 2024 imported the CUI from 2023 which did not have the LISP icons. So try to restore CUI to default 2024 or look for the missing icons and add them.

Yes, "migration" is a replacement action not a merging action. If you are organized enough with your customizations you can avoid the need for it.
