AutoCAD LT 2025 is here! We’re excited to share the new enhancements for best-in-class 2D drafting with the latest performance improvements. All you need to do is open the Autodesk Access application to start your update. Keep reading to learn more about some of the latest capabilities in AutoCAD LT 2025.

Core Performance & Drafting

With the introduction of AutoCAD 2025, we announced the significant improvements that have been made to reduce the time it takes to open files. And we’re excited to let you know that this extends to files opened in AutoCAD LT 2025 as well, an important step to increase productivity for all AutoCAD users.

AutoCAD LT 2025 also shares the convenient updates to the familiar HATCH command—a tool designed to quickly add texture and clarity to your drawings using patterns, solid fills, and gradient fills. Previously Hatch required you to use pre-defined closed boundaries to then fill a space. With the 2025 release, you can now add hatch patterns with custom boundaries after initiating the command—including the ability to draw hatch textures along paths.

Smart Blocks

First introduced in AutoCAD LT 2024 with the Placement feature, Smart Blocks represents just one of the ways AutoCAD continues to leverage Autodesk AI to improve the core 2D drafting experience. AutoCAD LT 2025 now introduces the new Smart Blocks: Search and Convert feature that can be used to quickly organize geometry into blocks. This tool enables you to search drawings by selecting geometry and highlighting all matching objects found on the canvas, providing options to convert them into instances of a block with the help of Autodesk AI.

“Search and Convert allows for a more efficient workflow within AutoCAD. Blocks can get lost or be challenging to work with, and this feature allows for a more efficient approach, saving time and quickly creating new blocks from elements within the drawing.”
—Joe VanderPluym, Design Associate

Activity Insights

New to AutoCAD LT 2025, Activity Insights is designed to be the one stop for users to track and compare DWG versions with file comparison capabilities. Merging features from the previous DWG History tool, Activity Insights can be viewed using the new palette while working on a drawing, or directly from the Start Tab without having to open a drawing.

ArcGIS® Basemaps

Now in AutoCAD LT 2025 you can underlay one of five ArcGIS® Basemaps from Esri to ground projects with real-world geographical information. Using the GEOLOCATION command, access high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery, OpenStreetMaps, Streets, dark gray, and light gray monochrome map styles.

@handjonathan Small correction for LT users to know in this LT dedicated forum:

AI and Autodesk DOCS are not options, but most everything else noted is for sure

There is no update in my Autodesk Access application, and also, when I log into my account on the Autodesk website, and go to pages like 'product updates' etc. these pages are completely blank for me. What's going on? Is it possible that Autodesk temporarily turned off the content of these pages because the servers were overloaded with too many downloads of AutoCAD 2025?

Seems to be working well here in North America right now, where are you based please?

You either used the wrong login credentials (most common issue like you just wrote about), or if there is an account admin at your company at your end, they removed that from you for a reason.

Unless it is a regional issue at Autodesk, you can check for yourself here https://health.autodesk.com/

I'm in the UK, and it all did show up for me last night. Maybe it was a temporary problem on the server.

I installed the 2025 version, and ran into another problem - the new command BCONVERT doesn't work for me, I'm getting: 'Entitlement is not available or enabled.' Anyone getting the same?

You'll probably need to wait for a patch/update for LT2025 to fix it: seems to be quite common for early adopters.

Do you happen to be using AutoCAD Revit LT suite?  I am having the same issue and it appears to have something to do with my account. I have installed on a second computer and have the same issue.

I tried my sign in on a computer that was working with another autocad sign in and under my sign in I had the same issue. Was told they are working on it.

I cannot find the mode selection for hatch along a path in LT25, which is supposed to be found in the option bar (see screengrab attached).

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hi,

"which is supposed to be found in the option bar"

1. Who said this?

2. What is "the option bar"?

You will find the mode option in commandline version

Set HPDLGMODE is set to 2 (as default) and try it again.

Exactly, I've been using Autocad for 35 years and don't know what they're on about!! It is from MicroGraphics which was the only Google result which seemed to explain it (see attached screengrab)!

It's in response to the new features in LT25, Hatch Along Path (see hatch improvements video in lead post)

Found it HPDRAWMODE or it's the command line when in HATCH command

Glad to help. "You will find the mode option in commandline version"

>>" It is from MicroGraphics"

Okay, this expression is not used in AutoCAD, so you should have asked micrographics.
But the answer is clear, what we mean is the command line (if ON, CTRL+9)

I have an issue with this version.

When I insert an annotative block with text Autocad adds adds always 1:1 annotative scale. I tried different blocks from different clients or my own. Always same problem.
Everything works fine with older versions. Any idea?

@kubaszymanski have a look at the following link

Unfortunately it didn't help. I've checked every option, also with "-".

Surprisingly if I use ADDSELECTED it didn't add this scale.

So the problem is only when I put the block from the Tool Palette.

May I ask, is having 1:1 somehow interfering with tasks you need to do? Elaborate and explain please.

Otherwise having 1:1 present is actually a good fixer for rogue annotative content that can happen sometimes.

See below:
1. When I work in model space and display every scale it display text in 1:1 for all scales except the current one. So it is hard to read it. I.E. I am changing some values and if I want to check if all went well I have to zoom or change scales (or look at viewports)

2. I can't select all blocks with different scales and delete 1:1 scale from these. I have to do this "scale by scale"

3. Sometimes I copy part of drawing from the other file, where the blocks didn't have additional 1:1. So part of blocks displays scale properly and some displays text in 1:1.

However, in the paper space everything looks OK - I am aware of that. I can live with this but is seems like a bug.

@kubaszymanski  In modelspace, you can change CANNOSCALE to show any paperspace viewport scale you want, you just have to be diligent about changing it when 1:1 is not your current need

Or get in the habit of working through the viewports using VPMAX command (VPMIN to get back out): try them now, and never go into modelspace just to edit content for your viewports
