I believe it actually stood for "LISP Truncated" (not absolutely certain it was LISP or if the 'L' meant something else, but I know the 'T' is for truncated).

When I worked for Autodesk, either one of the developers or Kate Morrical, the PM for AutoCAD LT at the time, told me. I cannot recall who for sure, but someone from that product's team filled me in.

Hey gang! Former AutoCAD LT Technical Marketing Manager here. Sorry to disappoint you all, but "LT" actually stands for...nothing. It could stand for lots of things, but officially, it's just a pair of letters.
