I'm having a number of mouse (Logitech M215) problems that I think are somehow related. The problem just started today, and I can't seem to find a solution even when I try options from a number of forum posts.
(Just to state upfront for both issues: I've installed the most current driver to the mouse and even reinstalled AutoCADLT 2017. Neither action solved the problem. I've also restarted my laptop (ASUS w/ Windows 10) a number of times.)
Problem 1) Pressing the wheel button on my mouse won't pan anymore. Scrolling still zooms in and out fine. It's just holding the wheel down doesn't pan anymore. I've tried the various solutions I've seen in other posts. MBUTTONPAN is already set to 1. I tried various options of changing the CUI macros to pan ('_pan) vs snap ($P0=SNAP $p0=*) for the buttons. When I do that, I can get the right mouse button to pan (button 2?), but then I lose my other right click options as pan works no matter which option of right clicking I use (Click, Shift + Click, CTRL + Click). Which leads to problem 2 . . . . . .
2) My right Right-click Customization settings have changed and will not save in the Options Menu when I try to restore them. I prefer Default Mode --> Repeat Last Command; Edit Mode --> Repeat Last Command; Command Mode --> Enter. Every time I try to set them back (Change settings, Apply & Close in the Right-Click Customization menu, then Apply, and then OK in the Options Menu), the settings do not get applied. When I open the Options Menu again, the "Shortcut menus in drawing area" box is unchecked.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening? It's very aggravating.
Thanks for the reply.
1) If I had been able to use the middle button to pan using the same mouse up until yesterday, what would have changed so that I cannot pan now?
2) 10 doesn't seem to be the right number for SHORTTCUTMENU. I've tried a bunch of different numbers (1-15) as well and nothing sets it the way I had it set before. Why can't I set the right click options in the Options menu? Whenever I hit the Apply & Close button after I choose the settings I want in the Right Click Customization menu window, the "Shortcut menus in drawing area" box in the Options window gets unchecked.
Hi @jose,
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
To add...
If you try a different mouse do you have a different result? Is it a wireless mouse or a corded?
If you log in as a separate user on your system with full admin rights and run AutoCAD LT do you see the same issue in that environment?
Post back with any updates or questions.
Thanks.
I'm following up on my previous post if you have any questions or found a workaround post back with any new updates.
If you still need help or have questions I'll be more than happy to help.
Thanks.
