Roof tiles and batten in section

Quite a simple beginners question - I think!? I am moving over to AutoCAD LT from Drawing Express. Drawing express has a 'roof tiles' command in which you select the tile ie. slate, clay, interlocking etc and then you select the vector you want and it covers that line with the roof tiles and roofing batten in section.

Is there an equivalent in AutoCAD LT? If not, what is the most efficient way of doing it?

Explore the linetype BATTING of the one, there are free hatches for anything else you want all over the web, help yourself https://www.google.com/search?q=autocad+hatch+patterns&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS757US757&oq=autocad+hatch+pat...

You can also purchase hatch kits from he web too, here is one of many http://hatchpatterns.com/ and https://www.archblocks.com/archblocks-cad-blocks-and-products-previews/autocad-hatch-patterns

Or you can make your own with this software https://www.hatchkit.com.au/

FYI AutoCAD and LT are general use CAD programs: not tailored to any specific industry. So whatever comes with those programs tends to be limited for specific industries.

Thanks for the reply but I am not looking for a tile hatch. I am looking for tiles in section with roofing batten. See attached image for an example of what I mean.

I'm not sure what part you only read, but I did not specifically say anything about a tile hatch, I simply pointed you to where you might either find what you need or create what you need yourself instead.

BTW, the tile is not a hatch, but in AutoCAD/LT that likely needs an ARRAY of a drawn section detail, or multiple copies of same drawn detail.

Good luck.

Hi! AutoCAD LT is for general use, but the Architectural Desktop and MEP versions have this app under the Deail button. otherwise you need to copy and paste detail of tile in section.
