I'm not able to put "Open With" in DXF files in AutoCadLT, someone knows help or say if this version is not available?

Open With? Is Windows not finding a program you want, or are you trying to do something else?

Start AutoCADLT
Start OPEN command
Change file type on the pop-up to DXF, open the dxf file.
Does that work?

I can open it like this but I wanted to leave it as default.

What program tries to open when you double-click on a DXF file?
And what error is presented?

I'm using AutoCad Mobile, when I try to switch to LT nothing happens, I already tried for DWG and DXF files the same happens.

Before using Autocad Mobile the same type of error occurred.

Remove AutoCADMobile from your PC: restart your PC.
Reinstall AutoCADLT 2019 and answer yes when it asks to replace files, that should fix it.

If you still need AutoCADMobile, reinstall it: answer NO if it wants to hijack DWG/DXF file associations.

I installed it again but the same problem continues to appear, I do not have the AutoCad 2019 version but keep searching that way. Even installing it again was not asked the option you said in the previous topic.

Let's start over.

Which program are you trying to use?
What is your Windows version?

When I bought and moved from "AutoCad 2019 Trial" to "AutoCad LT 2019" I can not put the default program as AutoCad for "DXF and DWG" formats.

all versions of CAD and also restored the computer anyway so continuous with the same problem it continues to look for "default" the AutoCad 2019 even trying to change manually it does nothing and looks like the image.

1- Turn on File Extensions in Windows File Explorer like this https://fileinfo.com/help/windows_10_show_file_extensions
2- Start LT2019, use OPEN command to open a DWG file. Save that file and close it.
3- Now right-click over any DWG file in Windows File Explorer and select AUTOCAD DWG LAUNCHER.

Double-click on the DWG file: does it work, or fail?

If it works, repeat for DXF files except select AUTOCAD APPLICATION. Does it work, or fail?

You can also ask Cortana, in Windows 10, o open CHOOSE DEFAULT APPS BY FILE YPE and make those edits there.

It still does not work, thanks for the help but I'm going to do my backup and format the computer, I'm sure it's something on windows.

"You can also ask Cortana, in Windows 10, o open CHOOSE DEFAULT APPS BY FILE YPE and make those edits there."

I've tried it and tried it again and I did not get it, I removed the AutoCad LT and I put the "AutoCad 2019 Trial" version that also presents the same problem.

It does not restrict and it does not accept to change the default program in any way already I saw that it is not problem in AutoCad, thank you anyway.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you're posting for the first time. Welcome to the Autodesk Community, and thank you for posting your question here in the AutoCAD LT forum.

It sounds like you're set on backing up and formatting the computer. I was going to suggest uninstalling all versions of AutoCAD that were installed, since it sounds like you had a few different versions installed at one point. This can sometimes cause issues with file type associations. Once you have reinstalled AutoCAD LT, refer to this AKN article which details the process for assigning file type association - in particular the .dwg file type, but the same would apply to .dxf files.

Please let me know how it goes after formatting (if you decide to go that route) and reinstalling AutoCAD.
