plot preview - plotting a pdf

I upgraded to AutoCAD LT 2016 from 2007 LT because it looked like the last copy I would be able to purchase a license for.

For the past year I keep using 2007, mostly because I have never been able to get 2016 to plot a pdf, my most used option.

I do not even get a preview of the plot. When I hit the preview button it just cycles to the plot manager again.

Any help will be very greatly appreciated.

Hi @AnonymousHello

Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I need a bit more information from you.

  • What type of operating system are you running?
  • Have you applied all service packs?
  • If you log in as a different windows user on your machine does this issue still happen?
  • Are AutoCAD 2007 and 2016 on the same system?
  • Does this happen with all files even a brand new file?

Thanks

Nothing has changed when it comes to plotting between the two versions, except for being able to choose built-in PDF drivers.

So let's start at the beginning: post a screenshot of your full AutoCAD/LT2016 screen with the PLOT dialog box in full view and "ready to plot" to PDF and let's see what you have going on.

I seem to have found a solution. Digging deeper in the Pdf setup in 2016 may be working for me. I will update if the problem continues. Thank you
