Mleader layer changes when adding leaders

I recently updated LT 2025 to the latest 2025.1 patch and now my Mleaders are acting up. I will have a mleader on a layer and when i go to add leader line to it, the layer changes to what ever current layer I have. For example, I create a mleader and put it on a WALL-ANNO layer. Then i change my current layer to WALL-DIMS. If I add a leader (doesnt matter if it done thru the ribbon button or right click on the leader) it changes the layer from WALL-ANNO to WALL-DIMS. It never was like that before. I could add a leader and it stayed on the layer I put it on.

Anyone know whats going on?

Hi,

nice catch. It looks like Adesk added a good thing (the new MLEADERLAYER feature!),

but someone made a mistake in the implementation and also used MLEADERLAYER for MLEADEREDIT.
My personal opinion: Clearly a mistake.

It is possible to set a default layer for MLEADERLAYER. Enter MLEADERLAYER, then replace "use current" with "WALL-ANNO". (Yes type in the quotes also) However this must be changed in every file you open. And if all your leaders aren't on layer "WALL-ANNO" then this provides little help.

It looks like the same thing applies when using REVCLOUD now.

I wonder if 2025.1,1 update would fix this?

Additional forum has the same issue and no one has seen a fix with any of the updates: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-forum/adding-leader-to-multileader-puts-multileader-onto-cur...

Sadly, no.

It did FIX it for me.  I can now add another leader to an existing one and it won't change the layer of that callout to the current layer.  I can now add a new leader and it does not change it's layer, just like it used to work.

Are you sure? Were you running the beta of the 2025.1.1 update by chance (and may still be)? in WindowsOS?

And you are using the button or the command AIMLEADEREDITADD command to add to the mleader, and not the MLEADEREDIT's default ADD option, yes (the actual documented workaround)?

Update:

No, the latest patch did NOT fix the original problem. The button still changed the layer to the current. BUT I did change the buttons command to MLEADEREDIT (as PENDEAN talked about above) and that works...for now.
